About the "Dueling Pianos" Concept
The "dueling piano sing-a-long" concept had its modern origins at Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. The styles of choice were Dixieland, 40's, and 50's music. The true roots surely go back further than that because as long as there has been at least one person to lead a song, there has almost always been someone to sing along. Modern day Dueling Pianos is the evolution of this deceptively simple idea, smartly packaged for the new Millennium.
The focal point of all this fun is a pair of grand pianos on stage. The piano players are the ring masters - they run the show. Known as the Entertainment Directors, they are responsible for maintaining the enthusiasm that keeps the concept fresh. Hand picked from only the finest regional talent, they are thoroughly trained and motivated to keep the audience happy, developing fresh new routines around familiar songs.
